The Basmanny district court will conduct hearings on the intellectual property claims filed by heirs of Yuri Vizbor against Internet providers
The Basmanny district court in Moscow will conduct hearings on the intellectual property claims filed by heirs of Yuri Vizbor against Internet providers who allegedly use the music written by the famous Russian bard for mobile phone melodies, lawyer Irina Tulubyeva, who represents the heirs told RIA Novosti.

"The claims were filed against the Russian association on multimedia and digital networks [ROMS], which sold the rights [on Vizbor's songs] to various providers, and against content providers that actually use the melodies - owner of the web sites Audiosto.ru and Delete.net Igor Zuyev and the Leninskoye Navigation Company," Ms. Tulubyeva said.

According to the lawyer, plaintiffs demand that the ROMS should stop distributing licenses on the use of Vizbor's songs. In addition, they demand a 50,000-500,000-ruble compensation from content providers for violation of copyrights.

"The heirs have been trying to reach a compensation agreement with the wrongdoers for a long time. However, they failed to reach a compromise," the lawyer added
